The War in 1971
The writing is about the Liberation War of 1971
In 1947, British India was divided into India and Pakistan under British rule. Pakistan had two parts. One was East Pakistan, and the other was West Pakistan. Because the capital was in the West, discrimination started. The people of the East faced political, economic, and cultural discrimination.
The people of the East immediately began to protest. In 1952, the first major protest happened. Following that, in 1966, the 6-Point Movement was introduced. Then, in 1969, a major uprising happened. After that, the Awami League won the general election, but the power was not given. It caused outrage all across the country. Finally, on the 26th of March, 1971, the Liberation War began.
The war lasted an agonizing 9 months. The Pakistani army killed the people of Bangladesh brutally. Millions of brave people gave their lives to give us our freedom. At the end, the Pakistani army surrendered on the 16th of December, 1971.
The martyrs gave their lives for us. It is a truly honorable thing to do. We shall never forget them and keep them in our memories. We should learn to be patriotic like them.
